THIS IS BASINGSTOKE HOCKEY CLUB
A Historic Club
Established in the early 1950’s, Basingstoke Hockey Club began life sharing a small pavilion at Odiham’s Cricket ground, consisting of 2 teams and only c. 30 members. The Club today has a playing membership of almost 500 members, enabling us to field 7 Men’s teams, 6 Ladies teams, 11 Youth teams and a mixed team! The Club is represented in a range of leagues, including South Central and National, so you will certainly find a team to suit you!

Our Clubhouse
The home of Basingstoke Hockey club is located within the Down Grange Sports Complex. Our Clubhouse, the Maidenwell Pavilion, is placed right next to the two astroturf pitches, has the best teas in Hampshire and a well stocked bar for all those that need to hydrate. There are changing rooms for all teams, baby changing facilities and the Clubhouse itself has disabled access.

Hockey for all
Basingstoke Hockey Club has close links with the local schools and run training sessions for children from 5 to 16 from September through to June. We have a fantastic Junior membership and always welcome new young members to come and try hockey out with us. In fact, we have several hockey ‘families’! We regularly explore new ways to bring hockey to the community, and over the last couple of years have lead the way with Hockey Heroes for 4-7 year olds. Head to the Junior Section to find out more.

Probably the most sociable Sports Club in Basingstoke
It’s a friendly and lively Club where new members are always welcome, along with families and friends. There are regular social events including a Pub Quiz, End of Season & Christmas Dinner, plus plenty more!
On match days tea and coffee facilities are always available in our conservatory as well as highchairs and toys for the children in their own designated area. What is more, it’s great for the stay-indoors sports fan as our conservatory overlooks the astroturf pitch!
