A Historic Club
Established in the early 1950’s, Basingstoke Hockey Club began life sharing a small pavilion at Odiham’s Cricket ground. Consisting of 2 teams and only around 30 members at the time, the Club today has a playing membership of over 400 members enabling us to field 6 Men’s teams, 6 ladies teams, 5 youth teams and a mixed team! The Club is represented in a range of local and Southern leagues so you’ll certainly find a team to suit you!
The home of Basingstoke Hockey club is located within the Down Grange Sports Complex off of Pack Lane. The Clubhouse itself has recently been upgraded and refurbished and now also includes full disabled access.
We are lucky to have a licensed bar, catering facilities, dance floor, and can offer the Club House as a events venue.
Basingstoke Hockey Clun offer the perfect setting for a really fun, inclusive, and sociable hockey Club.
Brilliant for kids AND the community!
Basingstoke Hockey Club has very close links with the local schools and runs training sessions for children from 5 to 14 every weekend through term-time. We have a fantastic Junior membership and always welcome new young members to come and try hockey out with us. In fact we have a number of hockey ‘families’!
We also partner with local charities and run fundraising events throughout the season.
Probably the most sociable Sports Club in Basingstoke
It’s a friendly and lively Club where new members are always welcome. Apart from the playing side the social scene stretches far beyond ‘just’ hockey. Families and friends are always welcome to the Club! There are regular social events including a Pub Quiz, End of Season & Christmas Dinner, plus plenty more!
On match days tea and coffee facilities are always available in our conservatory as well as high chairs and toys for the children in their own designated area. What’s more it’s great for the stay-indoors sports fan as our conservatory overlooks the astroturf pitch!
